How to install an ASIC miner (USB) Plug in your device. After a failed automatic installation go to: http://zadig.akeo.ie/ There might be a problem with the last win8 update causing zadig to stop working if you want to list all devices. Check the devices first in device manager if they are listed there and have the winusb driver, then you dont need to run zadig. 1. download the program 2. run the program 3. select your device (list all devices), choose your ASIC and install the driver (WINUSB) 4. you can check your device manager if the ASIC is listed under USB 5. check with commandline cgminer --ndevs -n in standalone 6. run a short cgminer test if you can see a hashrate 7. if point 6 doesnt work try another USB ports

How to run the new asic plan_class with needed BOINC 7.4.22 or greater? 1. download BOINC client 7.4.22 2. install BOINC 3. create or edit a cc_config.xml in boinc/data with content: <cc_config> <options> <coproc> <type>miner_asic</type> <count>1</count> </coproc> </options> </cc_config> 4. start BOINC, you will see a line in event log: GPU specified in cc_config.xml: 1 miner_asic The app is a mix of NCI and CPU. Its not using any CPU time + have a work queue. In this config it is only running 1 WU at the same time. If more apps have the same plan_class it should also run only 1 WU (still untested). An app_config file is no longer needed with max_concurrent.

How to downgrade your BOINC version by problems with new asic plan_class? If you have installed and running BOINC 7.4.12 and cant run it somehow with no problem solved try this out: 1. downgrade BOINC version to <7.4.12 2. remove the asic_miner content of the cc_config 3. restart BOINC, you will get the old app, see 1 post below

If you have more or less miners change it to your own config. With the new --usb :1 option and running more than 1 miner of the same kind you must change the <count>x</count> line in cc_config to the amount of your running miners. No app_config is needed anymore. For different apps see above. This will overwrite the --usb :1 option.

Rbox / USB stick Troubleshooting All of the Rockminers / USB sticks randomly lock up over time and need a power cycle to work again. You can see it on your invalid results running into the timelimit. The hotplug option also doesnt help here.

How to install an ASIC miner (USB)

Plug in your device. After a failed automatic installation go to:

How to downgrade your BOINC version by problems with new asic plan_class?

If you have installed and running BOINC 7.4.12 and cant run it somehow with no problem solved try this out:

1. downgrade BOINC version to <7.4.12
2. remove the asic_miner content of the cc_config

Running 3 miners on 3 different WUs

1. Antminer U2+ (2 Gh/s) with Campaign 4 cgminer 1.6+
2. Redfury (2.2 Gh/s) with Campaign 6 cgminer 1.6+
3. R-Box (32 Gh/s) with Campaign 4 cgminer 20+

You need to check the --usb option with cgminer -ndevs where an usb miner is connected on which port. If you have more or less miners change it to your own config.

With the new --usb :1 option and running more than 1 miner of the same kind you must change the

line in cc_config to the amount of your running miners. No app_config is needed anymore. For different apps see above. This will overwrite the --usb :1 option.

Rbox / USB stick Troubleshooting

All of the Rockminers / USB sticks randomly lock up over time and need a power cycle to work again. You can see it on your invalid results running into the timelimit. The hotplug option also doesnt help here.
